Even though we grew up in the middle of the country, my  childhood was rich with Nigerian functions that I absolutely detested at the time. In retrospect, the customs are all so special and beautiful. It's all about hospitality, community, generosity and fun. Everyone is everyone’s family at these events and the memories are incomparable. These two works symbolize the perspective from the high table, which was where the chief or the organizer of the event would be seated with their family. It’s their view of their guests sharing a meal and a laugh together as day transitions into the night.
